How We Met and More
I was invited to show my hand painted silk scarves at a Silk Painting Workshop at the Brooklyn Museum.. When I showed up the students were painting little silk flowers.. I threw my abstractly painted silk scarves on a table and Norma came over to me and said .. :OH,, we have to talk!" That is how we met.. We became Art Buddies and more... We attended about a dozen art workshops together over the years... inspired each other and shared our creativity.. We traveled together,, We once went to Iceland for 2 weeks and shared the most incredible journey of a lifetime.. We rented an apartment in Amsterdam with my sister for a week and all got along wonderfully... I took weekend end trips, day trips to many places with Norma.. She was always there for me with words of wisdom,, inspiration and huge hugs.. We endearingly called one another Normacita and Donnacita.. I went to visit her in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, helped her move and organize her artwork.. went with her countless times while she had chemo... we spoke several times a week,, met often for dinner and a movie.... OH,,, I miss her already.. I have never had such an honest relationship with anyone,,, She always told me to do something pleasurable every day... I felt like I knew all of her friends from the stories she shared,, and met some who are wonderful.. I am the only friend who ever met her brother!!!!! She touched my heart and soul and am so glad I spent so much time with her... I loved her dearly,,, Donna
