Kathleen's beloved Ireland
I am, Josephine Dimiceli, and I am the funeral director whom Kathleen had selected way back in 2005 to handle her funeral arrangements. Kathleen contacted me back in 2005 saying that when her time came she wanted to be sure that her mortal remains were returned to her beloved Ireland for burial in Deansgrange Cemetery in her family plot. She would share stories of her life when in Ireland and how when she died I must contact the funeral home in Ireland… She called it “Colliers of Bray”. Over the next several years, Kathleen would call from time to time to ensure that when she died I wouldn’t allow her family to cremate her. I gave her my word and promised that no matter what I would make her intentions of burial in Ireland known and when I give my word, I will fight anyone tooth and nail to accomplish what I had promised. I have shared this story with Kathleen’s nephew, David, and I had to share with him one other fact and that is to me, whenever anyone mentions Ireland, in my head I hear Kathleen’s sweet voice saying “Colliers of Bray”. Rest in peace sweet Kathleen. It has been my honor to have served your family by granting your wish to be returned to your beloved Ireland and to Colliers of Bray who will handle the final committal service.
