On Tuesday, July 17th, Michael entered into eternal life at Tisch Hospital (NYU-Langdone Medical Center) at the age of 69. Michael was an Architect for the Port Authority of NY and NJ and held a degree in Architecture from Columbia University.

Born in Kewanee, Illinois , Michael, was predeceased by his parents, Dayton and Eleanor (nee Cromien). Michael is survived by his brother, Dr. Kerry J. Newman of Newburgh, Indiana, another brother, Daniel, predeceased Michael.

In 1977 through 1978, Michael worked on the Aramco Project in Saudia Arabia, He worked on many other projects the past 10 to 20 years here in New York City. He worked for the Port Authority of NY & NJ from 1991 to 2009. He helped with the Battery Park Terminal Project and received a Presidential Citation this past year.
